January 10, 2025 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 Index concluded Friday's trading session at 113,247.29, showing an increase of 609.03 points or 0.54%.

The index traded in a range of 1,540.48 points showing an intraday high of 113,554.07 (+915.81) and a low of 112,013.59 (-624.67) points.

The total volume of the KSE-100 Index was 216.22 million shares.

Of the 100 index companies 51 closed up, 47 closed down, while 2 were unchanged.

Top gainers during the day were MEHT (+8.96%), PGLC (+7.76%), PKGP (+7.65%), OGDC (+5.60%), and PPL (+5.19%).

On the other hand, top losers were EFUG (-5.24%), NRL (-4.47%), AIRLINK (-3.56%), PKGS (-3.07%), and NML (-2.85%).

In terms of index-point contributions, companies that propped up the index were OGDC (+259.70pts), PPL (+214.64pts), BAHL (+138.35pts), FFC (+55.89pts), and HMB (+43.91pts).

Meanwhile, companies that dragged the index lower were ENGROH (-68.32pts), HUBC (-40.71pts), UBL (-40.15pts), HBL (-38.21pts), and MEBL (-25.43pts).

Sector-wise, KSE-100 Index was supported by Oil & Gas Exploration Companies (+500.30pts), Commercial Banks (+145.19pts), Cement (+93.97pts), Fertilizer (+51.51pts), and Food & Personal Care Products (+28.34pts).

While the index was let down by Inv. Banks / Inv. Cos. / Securities Cos. (-77.41pts), Pharmaceuticals (-59.33pts), Technology & Communication (-56.60pts), Refinery (-21.50pts), and Leather & Tanneries (-20.39pts).

In the broader market, the All-Share Index closed at 70,317.15 with a net gain of 370.26 points or 0.53%.

Total market volume was 499.85 million shares compared to 695.14m from the previous session while traded value was recorded at Rs24.83 billion showing an increase of Rs0.53bn.

There were 272,161 trades reported in 448 companies with 175 closing up, 218 closing down, and 55 remaining unchanged.

To note, the KSE-100 has gained 34,802 points or 44.37% during the fiscal year, whereas it has decreased 1,880 points or 1.63% so far this calendar year.
