PMEX trading activity slips by 14.31% DoD

May 13, 2024 (MLN): The trading activity at the Pakistan Mercantile Exchange (PMEX) on Friday dropped by 14.31% DoD to clock in at Rs22.75 billion with the number of lots traded at 18,677.

While, the commodity exchange closed at 10,552, down by 0.14% DoD.

Gold remained in the limelight, contributing significantly to the trading volume with transactions worth Rs15.33bn. Following closely behind, NSDQ 100 recorded trading valued at Rs1.72bn.

Currencies through COTS NSDQ 100 also made a prominent spot, clocking in at Rs1.58bn. In addition, Silver, Crude Oil and Platinum attracted substantial attention from investors, and their transactions stood at around Rs1.34bn, Rs594.4 million, and Rs1bn, respectively.

Moreover, Natural Gas transactions reached Rs249.6m, DJ at Rs198.43m, Copper at Rs26.9m, S&P 500 at Rs95m, JPY equity at Rs181.7m and Brent at Rs13.5m.

In the agricultural commodities segment, Cotton saw active trading, with 25 lots amounting to Rs27m changing hands.
