PM Shehbaz Sharif abolishes PWD to combat corruption

June 04, 2024 (MLN): Considering the harmful effects of corruption on Pakistan's operational efficiency, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced that his decision to abolish the Pakistan Public Works Department (PWD) is a step towards eliminating the systemic decay harming the country.
The Prime Minister emphasized this in a post on his X handle (formerly known as Twitter).
"I am fully committed to building a more honest, dedicated and efficient bureaucracy that will deliver high-quality public service and raise standards of governance," he further added.
