PM Nisar emphasizes need for removing bottlenecks in investments

Prime Minister Nasir-ul-Mulk has emphasized the need for removing bottlenecks in the smooth and steady growth of investments in the country. He was chairing a meeting of Board of Investment in Islamabad today.

The Prime Minister said that the federal and provincial governments, ministries, foreign missions and other stakeholders should enhance coordination amongst themselves in order to extend maximum facilities to the business community.

On the occasion, Secretary Board of Investment Muhammad Jehanzeb Khan briefed the prime minister about the role of the organization in promotion of local as well as foreign investment in the country.

He said BOI is also serving as a lead agency for further industrial cooperation under the CPEC projects. He said efforts are afoot to address some issues that hampered steady growth of investment in the past and to restore confidence of the business community.

Progress on establishment of special economic zones under the CPEC was also reviewed.
