PKR strengthens by 8 paisa against USD

November 13, 2024 (MLN): The Pakistani rupee (PKR) rose by 7.65 paisa or 0.03% against the US dollar in Wednesday's interbank session to settle the trade at PKR 277.85 per USD, compared to previous closing of 277.93.

Throughout the day, the currency saw an intraday high (bid) of 278.00 and a low (ask) of 277.90.

In the open market, exchange companies quoted the dollar at 277.02 for buying and 278.80 for selling.

In comparison to major currencies, PKR appreciated 84.53 paisa or 0.29% against the Euro, closing at 294.60, the lowest in over a year.

Against the British Pound, PKR rose by 2.15 rupees or 0.61% to 353.86 compared to 356.01 a day ago.

The local unit appreciated 97.88 paisa or 0.31% against Swiss franc to close at 314.43.

Against the Japanese Yen, PKR's value appreciated 1.62 paisa or 0.90% to close the session at 1.7914 versus 1.8076 a day ago.

Pakistani Rupee decreased 3.41 paisa or 0.09% against Chinese Yuan to close at 38.46 from 38.42.

The local currency gained by 3.41 paisa or 0.05% against Saudi Riyal to 73.96. While it increased by 2.09 paisa or 0.03% against the U.A.E Dirham to close at 75.65.

During the current fiscal year, PKR has gained against the US Dollar by 49.12 paisa or 0.18%. While it has gained 4.01 rupees or 1.44% so far this calendar year.

In the Money Market, the benchmark 6 Month Karachi Interbank Bid and Offer rates remained unchanged at 13.08% and 13.33%.
