PKR gains 3 paisa per USD

April 15, 2025 (MLN): The Pakistani rupee (PKR) gained by 3.43 paisa or 0.01% against the US dollar in Tuesday's interbank session to settle the trade at PKR 280.57 per USD, compared to the previous closing of 280.60.

Throughout the day, the currency saw an intraday high (bid) of 280.65 and a low (ask) of 280.55.

In the open market, exchange companies quoted the dollar at 280.5 for buying and 282.15 for selling.

In comparison to major currencies, PKR rose 81.07 paisa or 0.25% against the Euro, closing at 318.95 compared to the previous value of 319.76.

Against the British Pound, PKR weakened by 1.57 rupees or 0.42% to 371.23 compared to 369.66 a day ago.

The local unit weakened 96.88 paisa or 0.28% against Swiss franc to close at 344.25.

Against the Japanese Yen, PKR's value strengthened 0.34 paisa or 0.17% to close the session at 1.9599 versus 1.9633 a day ago.

Pakistani Rupee appreciated 4.09 paisa or 0.11% against Chinese Yuan to close at 38.38 from 38.42.

The local currency decreased by 0.67 paisa or 0.01% against Saudi Riyal to 74.77. While it appreciated by 0.94 paisa or 0.01% against the U.A.E Dirham to close at 76.39.

During the current fiscal year, PKR has decreased against the US Dollar by 2.23 rupees or 0.79%. While it has depreciated 2.02 rupees or 0.72% so far this calendar year.

In the Money Market, the benchmark 6 Month Karachi Interbank Bid and Offer rates inched down by 1bps to 11.83% and 12.08%.
