PKR falls 4 paisa against USD

September 25, 2024 (MLN): The Pakistani rupee (PKR) depreciated by 4.32 paisa or 0.02% against the US dollar in Wednesday's interbank session to settle the trade at PKR 277.85 per USD, compared to previous closing of 277.8.

Throughout the day, the currency saw an intraday high (bid) of 277.95 and a low (ask) of 277.85.

In the open market, exchange companies quoted the dollar at 279.06 for buying and 280.45 for selling.

In comparison to major currencies, PKR lost 1.63 rupees against the Euro, closing at 310.95 compared to the previous value of 309.32.

The British Pound became expensive by 1.03 rupees closing at 372.05 compared to 371.02 from a day ago.

The Swiss franc saw gains of 1.14 rupees, closing at 328.95 compared to 327.81 from the previous session.

Against the Japanese Yen, PKR lost 0.59 paisa, closing at 1.9306 versus 1.9247 a day ago.

The Chinese Yuan gained 10.21 paisa, closing at 39.58 against 39.48 from the previous session.

The Saudi Riyal closed at 74.05 with a gain of 0.46 paisa from its value of 74.05 a day ago.

The U.A.E Dirham increased in value by 1.18 paisa from 75.65 a day ago to 75.63.

During the current financial year, PKR has appreciated against the Dollar by 49.51 paisa or 0.18%. While the current calendar year has seen PKR appreciate by 4.01 rupees or 1.44%.

In the Money Market, the benchmark 6 Month Karachi Interbank Bid and Offer rates fell by 10 bps to 15.83% and 16.08%.
