PKR falls 10 paisa against USD

April 24, 2025 (MLN): The Pakistani rupee (PKR) deteriorated by 10.16 paisa or 0.04% against the US dollar in Thursday's interbank session to settle the trade at PKR 281.07 per USD, compared to the previous closing of 280.97.

Throughout the day, the currency saw an intraday high (bid) of 281.05 and a low (ask) of 281.00.

In the open market, exchange companies quoted the dollar at 280.50 for buying and 282.60 for selling.

In comparison to major currencies, PKR depreciated 15.78 paisa or 0.05% against the Euro, closing at 320.07 compared to the previous value of 319.91.

Against the British Pound, PKR appreciated by 7.57 paisa or 0.02% to 373.82 compared to 373.90 a day ago.

The local unit increased 1.39 rupees or 0.41% against Swiss franc to close at 340.15.

Against the Japanese Yen, PKR's value increased 0.83 paisa or 0.42% to close the session at 1.9722 versus 1.9805 a day ago.

Pakistani Rupee deteriorated 1.28 paisa or 0.03% against Chinese Yuan to close at 38.53 from 38.52.

The local currency depreciated by 2.51 paisa or 0.03% against Saudi Riyal to 74.93. While it deteriorated by 2.76 paisa or 0.04% against the U.A.E Dirham to close at 76.52.

During the current fiscal year, PKR has depreciated against the US Dollar by 2.73 rupees or 0.97%. While it has fell 2.52 rupees or 0.90% so far this calendar year.

In the Money Market, the benchmark 6 Month Karachi Interbank Bid and Offer rates remained unchanged at 11.84% and 12.09%.
