PKR continues to hold its ground against USD for the fourth consecutive session

April 18, 2019 (MLN): The Pakistani Rupee continues to hold its ground, as it demonstrated firmness against the US Dollar for the fourth consecutive session of the interbank market. The value of PKR currently stands at Rs. 141.3956 against USD.

However, the local currency performed well against Pound Sterling, as it appreciated by 37.39 paisa against GBP and closed at Rs. 183.9981.

Similarly, the value of PKR increased by 76.99 paisa against EURO, as it closed at Rs. 159.1973 as opposed to previous session’s closing of Rs. 159.9672.

In addition to this, the State Bank of Pakistan injected Rs. 292 Billion into the market for 1 Day. The Overnight repo rate towards the close of the session was 10.85/11.00 percent, whereas 1 Week rate was 10.85/10.95 percent.
