September 12, 2018 (MLN): Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) will launch the operations of its latest passenger service system, ‘HITIT’ today, confirmed a spokesperson of the national carrier.

A web-based product bought from a Turkish IT company, ‘HITIT’ is reportedly equipped to carry out functions such as ticket reservations, flight operation, accounting and crew management, inventory control, check-in procedure, scheduling and revenue management.

The system has been deployed to enable a smooth online booking experience for the general public.

According to PIA’s chairman, “The system will improve technical capabilities and performance of the airline."

The Chief Executive Officer, Saqib Aziz believes that HITIT will help PIA in curtailing a significant amount of expense. "Changing the system was a need of present times," he added.

He assured that every effort has been made to ensure a glitch free transformation. The PIA staff has been instructed to remain available at all times so ensure smooth functioning.

CEO Aziz believes that the new IT Solutions partner will definitely bring more modernization and convenience to the customers.
