Petroleum Minister engages Shaanxi Group to boost energy ties

September 23, 2024 (MLN): To explore avenues for strengthening bilateral cooperation between Pakistan and China in the field of energy, particularly in coal, Minister of Petroleum Musadik Malik visited Shaanxi Coal and Chemical Industry Group Co., Ltd. in Shaanxi province, China.

Both parties engaged in productive discussions on potential partnerships in areas such as coal-to-chemicals technology and investments in joint ventures, said a press release issued on Sunday.

Representatives of Thar Coal Board, Sindh Engro coal mining company and Energy department Sindh were present at the occasion.

During the visit, the Minister was provided with a detailed overview of the company's operations, including their coal mining projects, petrochemical processing plants, and advancements in clean energy technology.

Shaanxi Coal and Chemical Industry Group is one of China's largest state-owned enterprises, with significant investments in coal, chemicals, and new energy sectors.
