Petrol prices slashed by another Rs10.2 per litre

June 15, 2024 (MLN): The government has once again reduced the price of petrol by Rs10.20 to Rs258.16 per litre, passing on the relief of declining international prices to the public grappling with high inflation.

The decline is fourth in a row, taking the cumulative relief to Rs35 per litre.

Moreover, according to a notification issued by the Finance Division, the price of High-Speed Diesel (HSD) has been slashed by Rs2.33 to Rs267.89 per litre.

The new prices will take effect from midnight of June 15, 2024.

"The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has worked out the consumer prices, based on the price variations in the international market," the notification reads.

The prices of petroleum products have seen a mixed trend in the international market during the last fortnight, OGRA said.

To recall, in the last fortnight, the government slashed the price of petrol by Rs4.74 to Rs268.36 per litre.

Similarly, the price of High-Speed Diesel (HSD) was reduced by Rs3.86 to Rs270.22 per litre.
