Petrol price slashed by Rs8.47 per litre

August 14, 2024 (MLN): The government has reduced the price of petrol by Rs8.47 to Rs260.96 per litre, said a statement issued by the ministry of finance on banned social media platform X.

Similarly, the price of high-speed diesel (HSD) has been slashed by Rs6.7 to Rs266.07 per litre.

The new prices are effective from August 14 and will remain in place till the end of the month.

The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has worked out the consumer prices based on the variations in the international market.

To recall, in the last fortnight, the government decreased the price of petrol by Rs6.17 to Rs269.43 per litre after two consecutive increases.

Similarly, the price of HSD was lowered by by Rs10.86 to Rs272.77 per litre.
