Govt cuts petrol price by Rs6.17 per litre

July 31, 2024 (MLN): After two consecutive increases, the government has reduced the price of petrol by Rs6.17 to Rs269.43 per litre following a slight drop in international prices.

Similarly, the government has slashed the price of high-speed diesel (HSD) by Rs10.86 to Rs272.77 per litre.

The new prices are effective from August 01 and will remain in place for the next 15 days.

No changes have been made in the applicable taxes and duties, which will remain at the existing level.

To recall, in the last fortnight, the government increased the price of petrol by Rs9.99 to Rs275.6 per litre.

Similarly, the price of High-Speed Diesel (HSD) was raised by Rs6.18 per litre to Rs283.63.
