January 07, 2023 (MLN): Pakistani freelancers, who have been demanding the availability of international payment gateways like PayPal, Stripe, and Visa in Pakistan for easier payment transactions, have received some good news from the caretaker IT minister Dr Umar Saif.
In a video message, Dr Umar Said announced that Pakistani freelancers will be able to ‘receive’ payments through PayPal, without the need to open a PayPal account.
While PayPal itself is not officially launching in Pakistan, but the remittances will be channelized through PayPal.
This means freelancers won’t need to open a PayPal account; anyone from outside the country can simply send money through their PayPal wallets, and Pakistani freelancers can receive the funds directly into their bank accounts.
