Pakistan, Turkiye sign key agreements to boost bilateral ties

February 13, 2025 (MLN): A Joint Declaration has been signed to further deepen, diversify, and institutionalize the Strategic Partnership between Pakistan and Turkiye at the conclusion of the 7th Session of the Pakistan-Turkiye High-Level Strategic Council.

This significant agreement was formally signed by Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and President of Turkiye Recep Tayyip Erdogan, marking a new phase of enhanced cooperation between the two brotherly nations.

During the event, both countries exchanged twenty-four Agreements, Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs), and Protocols aimed at strengthening cooperation across various fields.

These included four MoUs in the Defence Sector, two MoUs and a Protocol in Power, Energy, and Mining, and three MoUs to promote Trade and Industrial collaboration, according to the press release issued today.

Additionally, two Agreements were signed in Water and Seed Production, along with two MoUs in Scientific Education and Training, and two in the Banking Sector.

Further cooperation was established through an MoU for Religious Services and Religious Education, another in Halal Food, and one focusing on Media and Public Relations.

The two sides also signed an MoU in the Legal Sector, another in Health and Pharmaceuticals, and one for collaboration in the Aerospace Industry.

Cultural ties were strengthened with two Agreements in Cultural Cooperation and Co-production.

Moreover, the Pakistan-Turkiye Business Forum facilitated the signing of two MoUs to enhance bilateral cooperation in business.

The historic agreements mark a significant step in reinforcing relations between Pakistan and Turkiye, with Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and President Recep Tayyip Erdogan presiding over the ceremony.
