Pakistan, France focus on strengthening economic ties

December 04, 2024 (MLN): Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday highlighted the importance of Pakistan-France cooperation through business-to-business contacts.

He emphasized collaboration in agriculture, livestock, IT, skills development, and clean drinking water during his meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron.

On the sidelines of the One Water Summit in Riyadh, the two leaders discussed the full spectrum of the Pakistan-France relationship.

The discussion included enhancing political, economic, trade, and investment ties, as well as collaboration at multilateral forums, including the United Nations.

Prime Minister recalled with appreciation President Macron's strong advocacy for the people of Pakistan in the wake of the 2022 devastating floods.

The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of strengthening mutually beneficial economic and trade ties between Pakistan and France.

He encouraged France to explore investment opportunities in Pakistan, particularly in climate adaptation and renewable energy.

Both leaders also reiterated the shared desire of the two sides to remain closely engaged on all regional and global issues of mutual interest.
