Overseas Pakistani remit USD 20,654.48 Million during July-May FY20

Jun 12, 2020 (MLN): Overseas Pakistanis remitted USD 1.87 billion in the month of May 2020 compared to USD 1.79 billion in April 2020 showing an increase of USD 82.83 million over the previous month.

However, according to data released by the State Bank of Pakistan the remittances decreased by USD 429.14 million when compared to May 2019.

The total amount remitted during July-May FY20 was USD 20.6545 billion compared to USD 20.1031 billion from the corresponding period of FY19 which showed an increase of USD 551.43 million or 2.74 percent.

Saudi Arabia was the largest source of remittances during the month having contributed USD 436.21 million followed by USA with USD 428.25 million and UAE providing USD 323.36 million.
