Negative sentiments continue to effect the capital markets

September 7, 2018 (MLN): The benchmark KSE – 100 Index continues to slip down the negative trail drawn during the last two trading sessions as it loses 210 points and is currently trading at 41,055 points, down by 0.51%

Investors tried to redeem yesterday’s losses at the stock market, during the initial hours of the day. The 100 index opened the day’s trade 63 points up from the last closing value, but could not sustain the momentum.

The index has touched an intraday high of 41,416 points and an intraday low of 40,994 points so far, thereby oscillating within a range of 421 points.

So far, 32.4 million shares have been traded of the companies listed within KSE – 100, while the value of trade locks in PKR 1.6 billion

With a total contribution of 57 points to the 100 – Index, Commercial Banking sector and Cement sector are emerging as the best performer of the session.

Meanwhile, Oil & Gas Exploration Companies have taken away 58 points from the index, and are thereby trading amongst the net losers.

The broader KSE All Share on the other hand has lost 153 points and is trading at 30,135 points, as of now.

The KSE index rose to an intraday high of 30,364 points, and the intraday low is recorded at 30,101 points currently.

The scrips constituting Karachi Stock Exchange have witnessed a trade of 57.8million share by now, at PKR 2 billion.

Amongst the constituents within KSE All Share, BATA is leading the net gains with an increase of Rs.59.99 in its stock price.

On the flip side, Khyber Tobacco Company (KHTC) lost Rs.23.66 and Murree Brewery Company (MUREB) lost Rs.23.15 in their stock prices, thus coming out as the worst performers so far.

Fauji Cement Company Limited (FCCL) is currently leading the volumes at Karachi Stock Exchange, having traded 8.9 million shares as of now.
