NBP added, BOP & FABL removed from BKTi

February 01, 2024 (MLN): The National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) has been added to the Banking Sector Tradable Index (BKTi) while the Bank of Punjab (BOP) and Faysal Bank Limited (FABL) have been removed from the index as a result of the recomposition of Oil & Gas and Banking Sector Tradable Indices for the review period from July 1, 2023, to December 31, 2023.
The recomposed Index will be implemented w.e.f. Thursday, February 15, 2024, according to the notification issued by PSX.
The re-composition has been carried out based on the criteria of selection of companies.
There is no change in the Tradable Index of the Oil & Gas Sector (OGTi) whereas the constituents of the BKTi would be affected due to the re-composition exercise.
Tradable sector indices capture a minimum 80% free float market capitalization of the given sector without any minimum companies’ limit.
