NA Standing Committee on Planning, Development Reform meets

The 60th meeting of the Standing Committee on Planning, Development and Reform was held on Monday in Islamabad, under the Chairmanship of Mr. Abdul Majeed Khan KhananKhail, MNA.

The Committee took the notice of the absence of the Minister for Planning, Development and Reform (PD& R) and Secretary PD&R and directed that their presence be assured in the upcoming meeting. The Committee discussed the issue of recruitments of LDCs in Pakistan Institute of Development Economic (PIDE) and examined the relevant record.

The Committee was informed that the 1200-MW LNG based power plants Baloki and Haveli Bahadur Shah would be functional till February, 2018. The Committee appreciated the efforts of the Managements for timely completion.

The Committee constituted a Sub-Committee under the Convenorship of Mr. Iftikhar-ud-Din, MNA and Mr. Junaid Akbar, Mr. Sher Akber Khan and Ms. Shaheen Shafiq as its members, the ToRs of the Sub-Committee will be to look into: distribution and System Augmentation Program STG, BOP, ELR (PESCO) in District Buner under PSDP Program” and “Status of PC-I of electrification work at different valleys of Chitral. Establishment of 132 KV Grid Station to 132 K.V  in Chitral, Chitral Hydel Power capacity enhancement and status of PESCO, PEDO and WAPDA agreement and steps taken for provision of electricity to upper Chitral by December, 25 (PSDP #1048 & 1054)”

Syed Muhammad Athar Hussain Shah Gillani, Mr. Ehsan-ur-Rehman Mazari, Malik Ibrar Ahmad, Dr. Asma Mamdot, Dr. Nafisa Shah, Ms. Shaheen Shafiq, Mrs. Shamas-un-Nisa, Sheikh Salahuddin, Ms. Asiya Nasir, Ms. Shazia Sohail Mir, Mr. Junaid Akbar, Mr. Iftikhar-ud-Din and Mr. Sher Akber Khan, MNAs attended the meeting, besides the officials of the concerned institutions.
