Murunj Dam project heads to Ministry of Water Resources for approval

April 04, 2024 (MLN): In a crucial initiative to reduce poverty and bring agricultural and economic revolution in the country, the project of Murunj Dam in Rajanpur has been sent to the Ministry of Water Resources for approval, said a press statement issued yesterday.

A detailed meeting was held on hill torrents and the Murunj Dam project under the chairmanship of Minister for Power Sardar Awais Ahmad Khan Laghari.

In the meeting, the Federal Minister issued instructions for the early completion of the ongoing feasibility study for the construction of several small dams on hill torrent drains in Taunsa, Dera Ghazi Khan and Rajanpur.

The Federal Minister while issuing instructions to the authorities said that in the process of this feasibility study, all stakeholders should be included in the consultation process.

The Federal Minister expressed his determination to start the construction work soon by arranging funding for all these projects.
