Lucky Cement to charge additional Rs 1000/MT on all Cement supplies

July 1, 2019 (MLN): Lucky Cement Limited will reportedly be charging an additional Rs. 1000/MT (50/Bag) on all Cement supplies, over and above the offered price with effect from July 01, 2019.
As per a notification making the rounds, the company has cited increase in the Federal Excise Duty (FED) on Cement, constant Rupee devaluation, rising coal import duty, and hike in fuel prices as major causes behind this decision.
In line with above, a representative of the company confirmed to Mettis Link News that the decision was being taken to negate the impact of rising input costs.
“The price increase will be implemented in a way that all existing backlog (if any) will be cancelled and rebooked as per the revised rated effective 1st July 2019,” the notice said.
