May 14, 2025 (MLN): Lucky Cement Limited (PSX: LUCK) has successfully fired the kiln for its new clinker production line on May 13, 2025.

This development follows the company’s earlier notice dated May 18, 2023, regarding the addition of a 1.82 million tons per annum clinker line at its joint venture company, Najmat Al-Samawah (NAS), located in Samawah, Iraq.

In addition to the clinker line, Lucky Cement is also constructing a new cement grinding plant at NAS, which will have a production capacity of 0.65 million tons per annum.

The construction of the cement grinding plant is progressing rapidly, and the company expects to commission it within the first half of FY26.

The clinker capacity expansion is expected to increase Lucky Cement's market share in Iraq, allowing for a higher supply of cement to the local market once the new cement grinding plant is operational.

Surplus clinker produced at the facility will be marketed and sold domestically within Iraq, the company's filing on PSX revealed today.

Upon completion of these projects, Lucky Cement's consolidated production capacities will reach a total of 21.48m tons per annum across both domestic and international locations. This includes:

Company Location Capacity (MTPA)
Lucky Cement Limited Pezu, Lakki Marwat, Pakistan 10.25
Karachi, Pakistan 5.05
Nyumba Ya Akiba Democratic Republic of Congo 1.31
Al-Mabrooka Cement Company Basra, Iraq 1.74
Najmat-Al-Samawah Samawah, Iraq 1.31
Samawah, Iraq (new clinker line) 1.82
  Total 21.48

With entrepreneurship as its core value, Lucky Cement Limited continues to focus on expanding its product portfolio and business operations.

The company is dedicated to enhancing the quality of its earnings and maximizing shareholder value through a well-diversified business portfolio that includes not only cement operations but also ventures in the automobile sector, chemicals and agricultural sciences, mobile phone assembly, energy, and copper and gold mining.
