Local production of petroleum commodities dips 4.78% in 7 months

April 2, 2019: The overall production of petroleum commodities has witnessed a decrease of 4.78 percent during first seven months of the current fiscal year as compared to corresponding period of 2017-18.

According to the data of Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, the POL products that showed negative growth include Kerosene oil, High Speed Diesel, Furnace Oil, Jute Batching Oil and Solvant Naptha, posting decrease of 5.22 percent, 5.94 percent, 11.88 percent, 6.62 percent and 36.47 percent respectively.

However, the production of Motor Spirit oil has increased by 12.43 per cent, Diesel oil 35.75 per cent, Lubricating oil 16.03 per cent and Liquefied Petroleum Gas 36.91 per cent during the period under review.

On year-on-year basis, the petroleum production decreased by 4.04 per cent during January 2019 as compared to the output of January 2018.
