LCI to invest Rs1.55bn in Soda Ash business

April 27, 2023 (MLN): The Board of Directors (BoD) of Lucky Core Industries (PSX: LCI) on Thursday approved a further investment of Rs1.55 billion for the Soda Ash business in Khewra in order to improve the efficiency and growth of the company, the company's filing on PSX noted today.

LCI, previously known as ICI Pakistan Limited, is a Pakistani chemical company which is based in Karachi, Pakistan.

With over 75 years of successful operations, the company supplies essential products to almost every industry in the country through the five diverse businesses that include Polyester, Soda Ash, Chemicals & Agri Sciences, Pharmaceuticals, and Animal Health.

The company also has a management stake in the infant milk formula business under the name of NutriCo Morinaga (Private) Limited.

LCI is part of Yunus Brothers Group (YBG), one of the fastest-growing and most progressive Pakistani conglomerates with a wide portfolio of businesses including, but not limited to cement, textiles, power generation, and commodity trading.

At the time of writing, the scrip of the company is being traded at Rs559.99, up by Rs9.97 or 1.81%.
