KSE-100 week ends with a positive note, gains 553.89 points

The PSX-100 closed the week on a positive note after the mid week carnage. The week started off on Monday by gaining 2.3 percent +1051.66 points, moving on to Tuesday with a colossal loss of -4.7percent -2153.23 points. The market witnessed the shock of JIT on Tuesday which turned the performance upside down.

The JIT and the consequences thereof have been absorbed by the market in the incumbent week. The market performance has moved past the JIT verdict into a more stable end yesterday (losing only -8.64 points) and gaining 553.89 points during today’s session.

The market lost 884.71 points during the week and a percentage of -1.83.

Market added a total of 553.89 points or a gain of 1.27% during today’s session. The index touched an intra-day low of 43695.88 points, a high of 44466.38 and closed at a tally of 44337.44 points.

The net gainers by price during today’s session were; Wyeth Pakistan WYETH +84.48, Sanofi-Aventis Pakistan Limited SAPL +82.00, Shield Corporation Limited SCL +31.00, Millat Tractors Limited MTL +26.59 and National Refinery Limited NRL +23.71.

The net decliners by price during today’s session were; Atlas Battery Limited ATBA -10.96, Shell Pakistan SHEL -10.11, Pakistan International Container Terminal PICT -10.00, Sazgar Engineering Works SAZEW -9.99 and Honda Atlas Cars Limited HCAR -6.74.

All Share Volume decreased by 13.38 Million to 112.13 Million Shares.

Total companies traded were 334 compared to 345 from the previous session. Of the scrips traded 236 closed up, 81 closed down while 17 remained unchanged.

Total trades decreased by 34,550 to 47,668.

Value Traded decreased by 1.34 Billion to Rs.5.95 Billion
