Index took a turn for the positive today after losing more than 500 points on Monday. The index gained more than 231 points closing in at 40548.9 points with a total value traded clocking in at 1.959 billion. Banking stocks helped market pick up, especially UBL +0.66%, HBL +0.55% and MCB +2.19% contributing points.
In addition to that, Oil & Gas Exploration Stocks also lent support during the day adding 64 points to the closing tally. Fertilizer, Tobacco and Textile also added points to the index.
Sazgar Engineering works closed the day hitting second consecutive upper lock due after it announced of entering a partnership with a Chinese manufacturer yesterday.
Sector-wise all share index turnover was led by Textile Spinning (15.765 millions), Technology & Communication (10.761 million), and Engineering (8.903 million) with Textile Composite (4.798 million) and Fertilizer (3.974 million) stocks trailing at the bottom.
KSE-100 Index at the day end moved a total of +231.90 points up by 0.58%, closing in at 40548.83 points.
Index Volume was at 43.46 million shares, value of shares traded reached PKR 1.959 billion with index high-low range of 40603.55 – 40271.53.
The index movement was limited within the 332.02 points range.
49 companies closed up, whereas 30 were down at the day end.
