December 05, 2024 (MLN): Extending its bullish sentiments, the benchmark KSE-100 Index surpassed 106,000 on Thursday during intraday trade, with the index currently trading at 106,212.81, showing an increase of 1,108.48 points, or 1.05%.
Yesterday, the index gained 545.26 points, or 0.52%, to close at 105,104.33.
Top gainers were PABC (+10.00%), BOP (+7.48%), UNITY (+5.91%), HUBC (+5.74%), and SCBPL (+5.30%).
On the other hand, top losers were IBFL (-4.09%), PIBTL (-3.38%), NCPL (-2.24%), PAKT (-1.44%), and PGLC (-1.33%).
In terms of index-point contributions, companies that propped up the index were HUBC (+207.34pts), FFC (+146.17pts), MARI (+104.77pts), UBL (+72.01pts), and FFBL (+48.08pts).
Meanwhile, companies that dragged the index lower were ENGRO (-16.67pts), BAHL (-16.20pts), DAWH (-13.04pts), SYS (-11.55pts), and BAFL (-9.70pts).
Sector-wise, the KSE-100 Index was supported by Power Generation & Distribution (+208.64pts), Fertilizer (+207.26pts), Oil & Gas Exploration Companies (+168.35pts), Commercial Banks (+144.28pts), and Cement (+80.92pts).
While the index was let down by Inv. Banks / Inv. Cos. / Securities Cos. (-7.88pts), Transport (-7.58pts), Tobacco (-7.37pts), Paper, Board & Packaging (-3.47pts), and Property (-0.82pts).
In the broader market, the All-Share Index closed at 66,988.20 with a net gain of 727.97 points or 1.10%.
Total market volume was 513.79 million shares compared to 1,749.32m from the previous session while traded value was recorded at Rs15.39 billion showing a decrease of Rs35.03bn.
There were 157,570 trades reported in 415 companies with 279 closing up, 115 closing down, and 21 remaining unchanged.

To note, the KSE-100 has gained 27,768 points or 35.40% during the fiscal year, whereas it has increased 43,762 points or 70.07% so far this calendar year.
