Kohat Cement approves various projects at Company's plant site, Kohat

October 26, 2020 (MLN): The Board of Directors of Kohat Cement Company Limited has approved following projects at Company's plant site, Kohat, which shall be financed through mix of debt and equity.

The Board approved setting up of 100tph Low Pressure Coal Fired Boiler with net power generation capacity of 16.2MW. The total estimated cost of the project will Rs 1.04 billion. The project will increase availability of alternate power source along with the reduction on power consumption cost.

The Board also approved setting up of additional cement grinding mill of up to 300tph. The estimated cost for this project is Rs 1.26 billion. This project will enhance operational efficiencies and will reduce power consumption cost.

Furthermore, it also approved BMR of 6700 tpd Grey Cement production line (Line-3) for optimization of its pyro process with an estimated cost of Rs 2.1 billion. This will improve Fuel and power efficiencies as well as reduce cost of production.

In addition to the above, the Board has further agreed to secure a plant site in Punjab, Pakistan to achieve the Company's future capacity expansion plans in Punjab and has authorized the Chief Executive to apply and obtain all requisite approvals / NOCs in this regard; and develop certain investment properties of the Company into Rental Properties to earn returns in form of rental income which shall further enhance the yield on these investment properties and for this purpose the Board has allocated Rs. 500 million.
