Jinnah Square underpass nears completion with 75% work done

May 12, 2025 (MLN): The Jinnah Square Murree Road underpass project has seen significant progress, with 75% of the development work completed and three out of four slip roads now open to traffic, as Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi expressed satisfaction over the developments.

During his visit to review the ongoing construction, the Minister noted that walls on both sides of the underpass have been completed and work on the roof is underway.

He instructed that 100% of the project must be completed within the current month and emphasized the need to beautify the area with green spaces and landscaping.

The underpass is scheduled to be inaugurated on May 22, according to the press release.

He also inspected the nearby under-construction bridge and called for immediate removal of encroachments along the Expressway.

The Minister reiterated that making Islamabad a world-class city in traffic management and public facilities is a top priority.

Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa, who briefed the Minister, affirmed that despite recent rains, the project remains on track for timely completion.

The Federal Secretary for Interior, Deputy Commissioner Islamabad, and other officials were also present during the inspection.
