IRSA releases 197,000 cusecs water

May 28, 2019: The Indus River System Authority (IRSA) Tuesday released 197,000 cusecs water from various rim stations with inflow of 202,200 cusecs.

According to the data released by IRSA, water level in the Indus River at Tarbela Dam was 1406.74 feet, which was 20.74 feet higher than its dead level of 1,386 feet.

Water inflow in the dam was recorded as 68,000 cusecs while outflow as 50,000 cusecs. 

The water level in the Jhelum River at Mangla Dam was 1151.15 feet, which was 111.15 feet higher than its dead level of 1,040 feet whereas the inflow and outflow of water was recorded as 47,200 cusecs and 60,000 cusecs respectively. 

The release of water at Kalabagh, Taunsa and Sukkur was recorded as 97,100, 98,500 and 25,100 cusecs respectively. 

Similarly, from the Kabul River, 57,000 cusecs of water were released at Nowshera and 4,000 cusecs from the Chenab River at Marala. The total water stood at 2.174 million-acre feet (MAF).
