December 12, 2024 (MLN): Director General of Intellectual Property Rights (IPRE), Abdul Qadir Memon on Wednesday, disscused to enhance cooperation with IPO-Pakistan to address the challenges of intellectual property rights in Pakistan.
The meeting, held at the Custom House Karachi, was chaired by IPO-Pakistan Chairperson Ambassador, Farukh Amil and Abdul Qadir Memon, as per the press release issued.
Abdul Qadir Memon emphasized the need for joint efforts to raise awareness about intellectual property rights and build capacity among law enforcement agencies.
The Chairperson of IPO-PAKISTAN outlined the importance of protecting intellectual property rights to promote innovation, creativity, and economic growth.
He emphasized that effective enforcement of intellectual property rights was critical to attracting foreign investment and promoting trade.
The Director General of IPRE welcomed the Chairperson's suggestions for joint advocacy panels at training institutions and invited him to address new officers and probationers.
He underscored his organization's resolve to prosecute violators of intellectual property rights, stressing that they were not just business people but criminals.
The meeting marked a significant milestone in the efforts to strengthen intellectual property rights enforcement in Pakistan.
Both organizations have pledged to work together to promote a culture of innovation and creativity in the country.
