Investment in Pakistani Bonds has reached one billion dollars: Hafeez Shaikh

November 25, 2019: Advisor to Prime Minister on Finance Abdul Hafeez Sheikh has said that the investment in Pakistani Bonds has reached one billion dollars.

Talking to the media persons in Islamabad on Monday, he said he hoped that the country will surpass its economic growth target.

He also said that the China Pakistan Economic Corridor project holds special significance for the development of the country, as it envisages several important projects including those related to energy, basic infrastructure and the special economic zones.

Earlier, addressing Pakistan Innovative Finance Forum in Islamabad, the Advisor said the government is committed to good governance, transparency, and financial discipline to ensure ease of doing business in the country.

He said the economy of the country has been put on the right path introducing effective reforms.

The Advisor said 16 percent improvement has been witnessed in revenue collection while non-tax revenue has been doubled due to the business-friendly policies of the government.

He said that the government has established a sustainable model of economic development and foreign direct investment and exports of the country have considerably increased.
