India to urge IMF review of Pakistan’s $600m investment in BRICS bank

March 10, 2025 (MLN): India will ask the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to review Pakistan's plans to invest about $600 million in the new development bank of the BRICS nations.

The IMF is reviewing a 37-month $7 billion bailout package to Pakistan, according to Bloomberg.

Pakistan wants to pick up a 1.1% stake in the multilateral development bank set up by Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa in 2015.

India had asked the IMF to prevent Pakistan from diverting funds from the bailout package last year.
