October 2, 2018 (MLN): International Monetary Fund (IMF) has sought contract details of CPEC as the multi-billion dollar project continues to evoke the West’s interest, revealed sources privy to development.

The IMF delegation conducted a third round of talks with the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and Ministry of Finance officials, yesterday, where the guest delegation was apprised on the details regarding tax revenues in Pakistan.

IMF probed the officers to take required measures in order to ensure that all non-filers are accountable under tax net.

During the prior two rounds of talks, IMF had declared the current economic condition of the country as ‘unsatisfactory’.

Chairman FBR and Governor SBP are expected to hold separate meetings with the visiting delegation. These dialogues between the two countries will carry on until October 4th, when the IMF’s delegation is scheduled to return.
