Illegal appointments of government officials upturned: Fawad Chaudhry

October 4, 2018 (MLN): The government of Pakistan has decide to eliminate all the illegally appointed officials from their positons who were appointed by the former finance minister, Mr. Ishaq Dar, announced Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry in a press conference.

The list of officials removed include Saeed Ahmed, the president of National Bank of Pakistan; Tahira Raza, the president of First Women Bank; Syed Talat Mehmood, the president of Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited; and Ehsanul Haq Khan, the president of SME Bank.

In addition to this, M.S Vadiya Khalil, the chairperson of the Competition Commission of Pakistan (CCP); Dr. Mohammad Saleem of CCP; and Shahzad Ansar of CCP have also been removed from their positions.

Chaudhry apprised that as per the Supreme Court’s decision, only the cabinet could appoint the heads of departments and directors.
