IHC suspends conviction of Nawaz Sharif and family

September 19, 2018 (MLN): Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, his daughter Maryam Nawaz and Captain Retd. Safdar has been given relief by the Islamabad High Court as the judiciary authority suspended sentences of the deposed individuals on Wednesday.

The decision was made by a division bench comprising of Justice Athar Minallah and Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb.

The Sharif family had challenged the Accountability Court order which had convicted them on July 06 in the Avenfield corruption case.
