CPI Preview: Inflation to fall to around 17% YoY in April

Honda reduces car prices after Toyota and Suzuki

August 18, 2022 (MLN): After Toyota and Pak Suzuki, Honda Atlas Cars (Pakistan) Limited (PSX: HCAR) Wednesday also reduced the prices of its vehicles in order to pass on the impact of PKR appreciation against USD to its consumers.

The company has decreased prices ranging from Rs280,000 to Rs550,000.

In a notice to its dealers, the company said, “Due to appreciation of PKR against USD, Honda is pleased to pass on this impact to its valuable customers.”

The company reduced the prices of five variants of the City model by Rs280,000-Rs320,000. The new price of the Honda City 1.2L Manual is Rs3,769,000 from the previous Rs4,049,000. The second variant Honda City 1.2L CVT will now cost Rs3,899,000.

The third variant Honda City 1.5L CVT is now available at Rs4,139,000 while Honda City 1.5L Aspire Manual saw a decline of Rs310,000 and now it will cost Rs4,299,000.

Following the revision, the high-end City Aspire CVT 1.5L variant is now priced at Rs4,479,000.

The price of BR-V CVT S has been decreased by Rs360,000 to Rs5,249,000.

Likewise, the price of Civic models saw a drop of Rs450,000-Rs550,000.

Honda Civic Standard has seen a decrease of Rs450,000, taking the price to Rs6,349,000 compared to Rs6,799,000. Honda Civic Oriel will now cost Rs6,599,000 while Honda Civic RS observed a drop of Rs550,000, taking the new rate to Rs7,549,000.

It is prudent to note that the local unit has so far appreciated by 11.40% against the greenback in a month to date.
