Govt slashes petrol prices by Rs8 per litre

January 15, 2024 (MLN): To pass on the benefits of lower global oil prices to consumers, the government has decided to slash the price of petrol by Rs8 per litre to Rs259.34, said a notification issued by the Finance Division.
On the other hand, the price of High-Speed Diesel (HSD) was maintained at Rs276.21 per litre.
The said prices will remain effective for remainder of the month.
In the last fortnight, the government maintained petrol and diesel prices at Rs267.34 and Rs276.21 per litre, respectively.
