Govt restores Saturday as weekly holiday

June 08, 2022 (MLN): The federal government has decided to restore Saturday as the weekly holiday with immediate effect, said a notification issued today.

Accordingly, the federal government offices will observe the timings from 8 am to 4 pm from Monday to Thursday with a prayer break from 1 pm to 1:30 pm.

On Friday, the offices will be operated within the same timings but the prayer break will be 12:30 pm till 2:30 pm.

The decision came after the consideration of the Power Division's proposal pertaining to energy conservation in the wake of the ongoing crisis.

To recall, the Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif after assuming his charge on April 12 had directed government employees to observe a six-day working week.
