Govt refutes media reports on handing over DISCOs to army

January 11, 2024 (MLN): The recent news circulating in the media about Distribution Companies (DISCOs) being handed over to the army is incorrect, as clarified by a press release from the Press Information Department (PID) today.

Neither there is any change in the management of DISCOs nor are they being handed over to any other institution.

"There are no plans in place to hand over DISCOs to any institution of the state," the press statement further added.
