Govt hikes petrol price by Rs9.99 per litre

July 16, 2024 (MLN): The government has raised the price of petrol by Rs9.99 per litre to Rs275.60.

According to a notification issued by the Finance Division, the price of High-Speed Diesel (HSD) has also been increased by Rs6.18 per litre to Rs283.63.

The said prices are effective for the second half of July and are based upon the recommendations of the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA).

OGRA has worked out the consumer prices based on the price variations in the international market, reads the notifice.

Meanwhile, no changes have been made in the applicable taxes and duties, which will remain at the existing level.

To recall, in the previous review, the government had increased the petrol price by Rs7.45 per litre and diesel price by Rs9.56 per litre.
