Govt hikes petrol price by Rs7.45 per litre

July 01, 2024 (MLN): The government has raised the price of petrol by Rs7.45 per litre to Rs265.61, said a notification issued by the Finance Division.

Similarly, the price of High-Speed Diesel (HSD) has been increased by Rs9.56 per litre to Rs277.45.

The said prices are effective for the first half of July and are based upon the recommendations of the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA).

The prices of Petroleum products have seen an increasing trend in the international market during the last fortnight, said the notice.

Meanwhile, no changes have been made in the applicable taxes and duties, which will remain at the existing level.

To recall, in the last fortnight, the government reduced the petrol price by Rs10.2 per litre to Rs258.16, while the price of diesel was reduced by Rs2.33 to Rs267.89
