Gov’t exempts sales tax on import of sugar

Aug 21, 2020 (MLN): The Federal government has exempted the whole of sales tax on the import of 300,000 metric tons of white sugar by the Trading Corporation of Pakistan (TCP).
According to the notification (SRO 751) issued by the Federal Bureau of Pakistan (FBR), the government exempted sales tax of 17% on import of sugar to lower the price of sweetener for masses.
