Govt committed to business facilitation: PM

March 13, 2025 (MLN): The government is taking all possible measures to facilitate the business community, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said while addressing Presidents of various Chambers of Commerce of Pakistan in Islamabad.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister assured the government's full support, emphasizing that resolving business community issues remains a top priority.

He appreciated the resilience of Pakistan’s industrial and trade sectors, acknowledging their continued efforts despite economic challenges.

Shehbaz Sharif highlighted key government initiatives, including the digitization of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and other reforms aimed at enhancing convenience and efficiency for businesses.

He noted that the implementation of the Faceless Clearance System has significantly reduced container clearance times at ports, according to the press release.

He further encouraged the business community to provide suggestions for system reforms that could help increase government tax revenue.

Stressing collective efforts for economic progress, the Prime Minister said achieving economic stability is the first step toward national development, which has now begun.

He directed all ministries and relevant secretaries to formulate policy measures based on the recommendations provided by the Chambers of Commerce after thorough consultations.

Business leaders attending the meeting expressed optimism about the country’s economic trajectory, stating that Pakistan is moving towards growth and development under Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s leadership.

They praised the government’s proactive approach in addressing business concerns, marking it as a significant shift in official policy.

Participants also commended the government’s economic team for its efforts in stabilizing the economy and expressed gratitude for including them in the consultative process, reinforcing the government’s commitment to a business-friendly environment.
