Gold hits record high at Rs319,000 per tola in Pakistan

March 19, 2025 (MLN): Gold prices in Pakistan surged to an all-time high on Wednesday, with 24-karat gold reaching Rs319,000 per tola after an increase of Rs1,650.

Similarly, 24-karat gold per 10-gram was sold at Rs273,491 after a gain of Rs1,415, according to rates shared by the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewelers Sarafa Association (APGJSA).

The price of 22-karat gold was also quoted higher at Rs250,700 per 10-gram.

On the other hand, silver prices remained unchanged in the domestic market, with 24-karat silver being sold at Rs3,555 per tola and Rs3,047 per 10-gram.

Globally, spot gold traded near $3,031 an ounce, down $0.4 or 0.01% from the previous session.

Gold rose to a record high on Wednesday as tensions in the Middle East and U.S. tariff uncertainties lifted the bullion's safe-haven appeal, while traders awaited the Federal Reserve's decision later in the day.
