Gold falls Rs1,000 per tola

September 12, 2024 (MLN): Gold price in Pakistan decreased on Thursday, with 24-karat gold being sold at Rs263,000 per tola, down Rs1,000.

Yesterday, gold surged to an all-time high in Pakistan. The yellow metal is up Rs43,000 or 19.6% so far this year as traders brace for the start of US Federal Reserve monetary easing from next week.

The Karachi Sarafa Association reported the price of 24-karat gold at Rs225,480 per 10-gram, down Rs857.

Similarly, the price of 22-karat gold was quoted lower at Rs206,690 per 10-gram.

On the other hand, silver prices remained unchanged in the domestic market, with 24-karat silver being sold at Rs2,900 per tola and Rs2,486 per 10-gram.

Globally, spot gold traded near $2,515 an ounce, up $3.6 or 0.14% from the previous session.
