FX reserves decline by $843.7mn in a week

March 24, 2022 (MLN): The total liquid foreign exchange reserves held by the country dropped by $843.7 million or 3.78% WoW to stand at $21.44 billion during the week ended on March 18, 2022, compared to $22.28bn in the previous week, weekly data released by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) on Thursday showed.

The data further revealed that reserves held by the central bank during the week declined by $869.2mn or 5.4% WoW to $14.96bn.

On the other hand, the reserves of commercial banks inched up by $25.5mn to $6.47bn from $6.45bn in the previous week.
