Foreign investors purchase securities worth PKR 14.8 billion during the week via SCRA

December 25, 2020 (MLN): The gross sale of securities by foreign investors during the week ended December 18, 2020, stood at Rs.12.8 billion, which is around 96.2 percent higher than the figures recorded last week.

Similarly, the total purchase of securities stood at Rs.14.8 billion, which is 157.7 percent higher than the prior week. Consequently, the net purchase of securities for the week clocked in at Rs.1.99 billion, whereas last week, the accounts observed a net sale of Rs.784.5 million.

According to a weekly report on Specially Convertible Rupee Accounts (SCRA) released by the State Bank of Pakistan, over the week, the overall purchase of securities rose by Rs.9.06 billion while the net sale of securities increased by Rs.6.28 billion.

Apart from this, the inflow of remittance into these accounts stood at Rs.6.42 billion, while its outflow has been reported at Rs.4.35 billion.

The closing balance of SCRA was recorded at Rs.29.52 billion, which marks a rise of Rs.543.86 million over the week.
